My favorite baby shoes- and you could win a pair!
Posted by Christi under UncategorizedLeave a Comment
My absolute favorite shoes for babies are Robeez! The are soft-soled leather shoes that come in all the cutest patterns. The are durable, comfortable, and beautiful! They have come up with a new line of Luxury shoes for babies. Now the best part is that my new favorite baby site BabyLuxe (daily) along with Robeez is giving away a pair of these great shoes. Here is some of the information about the contest and the shoes. Thanks to BabyLuxe for the great information and pictures.

Robeez always offers the best when it comes to beautifully crafted, stylishly designed footwear and with this luxury line it’s no different. Made from the same ultra soft leather, these shoes are meant to cushion, protect, and style tiny feet! The Luxury Gift Collection features six designs {with elegant embroidered detail; heart, cupcake, sailing, rocking horse, crown, or crest} perfect for your prince or princess.
Even the packaging is superior! These Robeez arrive in a special keepsake box, excellent for gift giving and perfect for storage. We were thrilled to receive a pair of the “Classic Crest” shoes; you hate to even open them, they look fabulous in the box! But of course we opened them and on to Aidan they went {so they are a bit big on his little toesies}, they still look beyond cute and I can not wait for him to grow into them!

Talk about a giveaway! Robeez is generously giving away a pair from the Luxury Gift Collection to TWO lucky Babyluxe readers! Please comment on which design of the six you like the best {Girls or Boys}. Good luck to all! Contest ends July 22nd.
In order to win, you need to visit this link at babyLuxe (daily) Good Luck!

I found a new product for breast feeding moms that I think is so interesting. So, I had to share.
I am a big fan of Nursing covers as I mentioned in my post a few days ago (about Nursing products) However, I have had several moms tell me that they hate to cover their baby’s head to nurse. I also know several babies (including my own as she got older) who refused to have anything over their heads. That is where the slurp n burp comes in.
It is a nursing cover that only covers you-not the baby! Here is what the websites says about how it works. Their are instructions on how to use it. I had to read them to really understand this product.
What exactly is a Slurp & Burp™?
It is a loop of layered cotton material that is worn like a sash over one shoulder of the mother and under her opposite arm- please refer to wearing instructions. The patented design allows the mother to be covered and the baby to be uncovered. To date, there are two versions of the Slurp & Burp™. One has a burp cloth sewn into the product so baby can be burped as needed while nursing. The second does not have a burp cloth and is used for older babies who no longer need to be burped. A third version with a detachable burp cloth is in the works.
A few special features of the Slurp & Burp™:
- All-in-one product for nursing and burping
- Securely loops around mom for complete coverage, no risk of falling off
- No more hassling with tucking blanket into bra straps or clipping
- Promotes mother/baby bond
- Comfortable for mom and baby—no more fussing with hot, sweaty blankets
- Machine washable/made of lightweight cotton
- Cost effective—price is comparable to the cost of just one nursing top
- Mom can keep her own style—no need to wear unflattering nursing tops
- belly stays covered without the bulk of layering shirts or belly bands
- Made with love in the USA
- Compact, easily fits in purse or diaper bag
- Nursing can be done anywhere

So, I found another great website geared to help Mom’s be great mom’s. Here is how the website describes inself… “Well researched and in-depth articles on frugal living, saving money, work at home opportunities, inexpensive recipes, and tips for organizing your life. Find answers, opinions and a community who understands.”
I plan to spend some time today reading through the archives. Let me know what you guys think.

This is my MUST HAVE product for new babies! We went through 4-5 bottles in the first 6 months or so. I give this to all my new mommy friends as one of their baby shower gifts. Gripe water is a natural herbal supplement used to ease the gas and stomach pain often associated with colic, hiccups, and teething. However, we used it for general fussiness with great success. Chloe wasn’t colicky in the least but she did have times where she was fussy and we just didn’t know what was wrong. This stuff really did make a difference for her. I think I may order some more and see how it does with her teething pain. I order mine from drugstore.com and you can usually get a coupon code so it is quite affordable. It is worth it….Promise!

When I embarked upon the world of breastfeeding a bit over a year ago, I thought that I was prepared. I had read books and talked to my lactation consultant. Now that Chloe is all weaned (Yay Chloe!) I thought I would share a few of the places and things that I learned about-things to make your journey easier. Here goes:
Nursing Covers: I had blankets at first. This works great until the little one decides to throw it off in abonadon mid-meal! I highly recommend purchasing a nursing cover. The more expensive and well known brand is Hooter Hiders. There covers run about $35 and come in several cute fabrics. I also recommend looking into buying covers made by regular old moms like you. Some of these ladies are very talented and make a product that is just as good and a bit cheaper. One of them is Mama Joy & Co. I personally know these ladies and her covers are well made and only $25!
Books: I had so many books that I turned too. However, this is the one I turned to most often! It is so good to have some resources available for the inevitable problems!
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding: Seventh Revised Edition (La Leche League International Book)
Breast Pump: I didn’t have to do as much pumping as a lot of mothers because I was only working part time but I still wanted to get a really great breast pump. I wanted it to be efficient and last through all the children we plan to have. I researched and finally found the one I wanted. I got a great deal on it. Just look for sales! It is the Medela Pump in Style. There are several variations depending on which bag you want. I loved it!
Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump
WEBSITES: There are so many great websites to go to for breastfeeding information. Here are a few of the best that I have found.
KellyMom.com – Great, great resource! My favorite!
LaLeche League- Lots of great information plus they have local meeting for even more support!
Dr Sears- He has information about everything but the section on Breastfeeding is great!
Comfort Products: Here are several items that I couldn’t nurse without!
LilyPadz- alternative to traditional nursing pads. (non-absorbent, clings to you, flexible, and breathable)
Milk Maid Tea- Helps to increase your milk supply naturally.
Breast Soothers- to relieve pain caused by breastfeeding. Little ice packs for your boobs!

So I found a great article/blog about having a letter of the day for you and the kids. Even if you don’t homeschool, I think this is a great idea. As a teacher (well former teacher) these kinds of activities are close to my heart. Check it out and let me know what you think.
